       observe the maritime part of the National Park which stretches

                     no less than 135,000 ha.

          Biosphere reserve                      of the Guadeloupe

     Since 1992, Guadeloupe has benefited from the international label of

       World Biosphere Reserve awarded by UNESCO

    to areas that are remarkable for the quality of their biodiversity and               sustainable use of their natural resources.

​

      The Guadeloupe Archipelago Biosphere Reserve was              designated in 1993. Like all Biosphere Reserves

     in the world, its function is to preserve the resources                   genetics, species and natural spaces,

          the cultural character. She helps support  activities

              research education, and training.

      It encourages sustainable economic and human growth.
